Eric Jacobson is a puppeteer and Muppet performer born on July 25, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas. He serves as the primary replacement puppeteer for Frank Oz's characters, a role he began in 2001. Jacobson initially started playing Bert in 1997 and officially joined the cast as Bert and additional Muppets in 2000. His role expanded in 2002 to include new Grover segments, notably Global Grover. Additionally, in 2001, he and David Rudman performed as Cookie Monster until 2002, when Sesame Workshop selected David to play Cookie Monster to allow for increased interaction between the characters of Bert, Grover, and Cookie Monster.

Jacobson took on his second role in 2001 on The Book of Pooh, where he worked on the characters Piglet and Kanga. That same year, his career continued to grow with further involvement in television projects. His extensive credits include work featured on platforms and programs such as Sesame Street's 50th Anniversary Celebration, Scrubs, and Sesame Street 4D. Throughout his career, Jacobson has accumulated numerous acting and performance credits as a puppeteer.
