Emma Margaret Marie Tachard-Mackey is a British and French actress born on January 4, 1996, in Le Mans, France. She was born to a British mother and a French father. At the age of 17, she moved to the United Kingdom to pursue higher education, attending the University of Leeds from 2013 to 2016 to study English Language and Literature. During her time at the university, she was involved in directing and appearing in various stage productions. She is recognized for her work in both television and film, establishing herself as a performer in major international productions.

Mackey achieved her breakthrough performance in the Netflix comedy-drama series Sex Education, in which she appeared from 2019 to 2023. Her work on the series earned her a British Academy Television Award nomination. Following this success, she transitioned into film roles, starring in the 2022 mystery film Death on the Nile. That same year, she portrayed the title character in the drama film Emily. Her filmography also includes an appearance in the production Barbie.
