Eduard Franz, born Eduard Franz Schmidt on October 31, 1902, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was an American actor of theatre, film, and television. By 1936, he was performing nationally as a player on the national stage, establishing himself as a leading Broadway actor for nearly 30 years in productions including First Stop to Heaven, Embezzled Heaven, and Conversation At Midnight. He made his film debut in a bit part in the 1947 film Killer at Large. His notable film roles include portraying King Ahab in the 1953 biblical film Sins of Jezebel, Jethro in Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 film The Ten Commandments, and Jehoam in Henry Koster's 1960 film The Story of Ruth. Franz died on February 10, 1983.
