His career spanned both theatre and cinema, including 17 Broadway plays between 1906 and 1920, and more than 150 films between 1915 and 1937. Among his notable film credits are Mutiny on the Bounty, released in 1935, in which he played Sailing Master Fryer alongside Clark Gable and Charles Laughton. He was also known for his work in films such as The Big Trail and The Hollywood Revue of 1929. Jennings passed away in Hollywood, California, on March 1, 1937, at the age of 65.
