He attended the North Carolina School of the Arts, graduating in 1998, and there produced two short films, Physical Pinball and Pleasant Grove. Green has directed a range of films, including dramas such as George Washington, All the Real Girls, and Snow Angels, as well as comedies like Pineapple Express and Your Highness. He has also directed episodes of the HBO comedy Eastbound & Down and the television comedy-drama Red Oaks, on which he serves as executive producer.
