Biography
David Chiang Da-Wei, born June 29, 1947, is a Hong Kong actor, director, producer, martial artist, and screenwriter. Also known as John Chiang or Chiang Tai-wai, he was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu, with some sources citing Shanghai as his birthplace. He is the son of actors Hung Wei and Yim Dut. Chiang rose to prominence as a martial arts star during the 1970s while signed to the Shaw Brothers Studio. Throughout his career, he has appeared in over 130 films and more than 30 television series. In addition to his acting work, he has contributed to the film industry as a choreographer and producer. He holds Canadian-Chinese citizenship.
