Daniel Prévost is a French actor, comedian, and writer born on October 20, 1939, in Garches, Seine-et-Oise, which is now Hauts-de-Seine, France. Also known as Denis Forestier, he was born to Micheline Chevalier and Mohand Ait Salem, whose father was of Berber descent from Algeria, a fact Prévost discovered later in life. After attending drama school in Paris, he made his theatre debut in Un certain M. Blot alongside Michel Serrault. In his early career, he performed with Boby Lapointe and became acquainted with Jean Yanne, later becoming one of Yanne's favorite actors. In the 1960s, Prévost met Jette Bertelsen at a festival in Denmark, and they had three children, Sören, Erling, and Christophe Prévost, who are also actors.
