Columba Dominguez Adalid was a Mexican film actress born in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico on March 4, 1929. She moved to Mexico City while very young with her family. While attending a party with one of her sisters, she was discovered by Mexican film director Emilio Fernandez, who was amazed by her beauty. Recognized as a crucial figure in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and a muse to Fernandez, with whom she was romantically linked for several years, she is particularly remembered for her performance in the 1949 film Pueblerina, which is considered a jewel of Mexican cinema. Her acting career included 57 known credits. She passed away on August 13, 2014 at the age of 85.
