Charles Michael Lorre, also known as Charles Michael Levine, is an American television producer, writer, director, and composer born on October 18, 1952, in Old Bethpage, Long Island, New York, United States. Referred to as the King of Sitcoms, Lorre has created or co-created and produced numerous television sitcoms, including Cybill, Dharma and Greg, Two and a Half Men, The Big Bang Theory, Mom, and Young Sheldon. He also served as an executive producer on Roseanne. Lorre has won three Golden Globe Awards for his work on Roseanne, Cybill, and The Kominsky Method. With thirty-six known credits primarily in writing, his extensive career spans multiple acclaimed television productions.
