Christopher Morahan was an English stage and television director and producing manager, born on July 9, 1929, in London, England, and known also as Christopher Thomas. Initially starting as an actor, he began working as a television director in 1957 on the ITV series Emergency Ward 10. From 1972 to 1976, he served as Head of Plays for BBC Television, overseeing productions such as Frederic Raphael's The Glittering Prizes, Just Another Saturday, which received the Italia Prize, and 84 Charing Cross Road. In 1977, Morahan joined the National Theatre as Deputy Director and was appointed Co-Director of the Olivier Theatre, where his first stage production was Jules Feiffer's Little. His directing credits also include Jewel in the Crown, Play for Today, and Dance to the Music of Time, A. He passed away on April 7, 2017.
