Charlotte Murphy is an Irish actress born on November 30, 1987, in Enniscorthy, Ireland. She is recognized for her television work, most notably her portrayal of Ann Gallagher in the BBC series Happy Valley, which aired from 2014 to 2023. Beyond her screen credits, Murphy has established a career in theatre, receiving critical recognition for her stage performances. She was the recipient of the Irish Times Irish Theatre Award for her role as Eliza Doolittle in a production of Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw at the Abbey Theatre. Additionally, she earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Play at the 2019 WhatsOnStage Awards for her performance as Mairead in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, directed by Michael Grandage.
