Brenda D. M. De Banzie was a British actress of stage and screen. Born in Manchester, England, on July 28, 1909, she was the daughter of Edward De Banzie and his second wife Dorothy, whom he married in 1908. In 1911, the family lived in Salford. Brenda De Banzie appeared on stage and in film, earning 36 known acting credits during her career. Her film work included playing Maggie Hobson in the 1954 David Lean film Hobson's Choice alongside John Mills and Charles Laughton, and appearing in Alfred Hitchcock's 1956 film The Man Who Knew Too Much. She also performed on Broadway in John Osborne's original play The Entertainer, receiving a Tony Award nomination, and later appeared as Phoebe Rice in the 1960 film version opposite Laurence Olivier. Brenda De Banzie died on March 5, 1981, at the age of 71.
