Birkan Sokullu is a Turkish actor born in Istanbul on 6 October 1985. His grandparents were Bosnian immigrants. After a ten‑year basketball career ended by a leg injury, he pursued higher education at Maltepe University, graduating with a specialization in Radio TV Programming. While at university he began modelling and later took acting lessons from Dolunay Soysert. He also spent a year studying in the Drama and Acting Department of Istanbul Aydın University before leaving the program. Sokullu first attracted attention with new characters in series such as “Kucuk Kadinlar”, the youth drama “Melekler Korusun” and the crime series “Ucurum”. His first notable leading role was as Demir (original role, Dan) in “Kucu”. He has accumulated twenty‑one credited screen appearances.
