Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan is a Turkish actor. He graduated in theatre from Hacettepe University State Conservatory. Between 1989 and 1993, he worked at the Diyarbakir State Theatre. In 1993 and 1994, he worked with Roberto Ciulli at the Theatre an Der Ruhr in Germany. Taylan has collaborated with Yücel Erten on various theatrical projects. He served as General Secretary of the Devlet Tiyatrolari Sanatcilari Dernegi, or DETIS, until his resignation in 2006. Taylan won the Ismet Küntay award for Best Director in 2002 for the play Misafir Sahneleyisi. He is known for his work in the surreal comedy series Leyla ile Mecnun and other films.
