Betsy Russell is an American actress born on September 6, 1963, in San Diego, California. She is the daughter of Constance and Richard Lion Russell, a stock analyst, and the granddaughter of journalist and educator Max Lerner. Her father and maternal grandfather were Jewish. Russell started acting in school plays at the age of eight and appeared in a locally taped Pepsi commercial while in high school. After graduating from Mission Bay High School in 1981, she pursued an acting career. Russell is known for her roles in Private School, Tomboy, and the Saw film series.
