Prior to his television sketch comedy career, he performed in AT&T commercials titled It is Not Complicated, where he interviewed children, and he produced sketch videos with the comedy group Good Neighbour. He later became a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, joining the show for its 39th season in 2013 and departing at the conclusion of its 46th season in 2021, spanning a tenure of eight seasons on the program.
