Barbara Crampton (born December 27, 1958 in Levittown, New York) is an American actress whose career began in the early 1980s. She made her television debut on the daytime drama Days of Our Lives in 1983 and her film debut the following year with Body Double. Crampton quickly became associated with horror cinema, appearing in the cult classic Re‑Animator (1985) and later in Chopping Mall and From Beyond (both 1986). Additional genre credits include Castle Freak (1995), the slasher You’re Next (2011), the folk horror We Are Still Here (2015) and the indie horror Little Sister (2016). Raised Catholic in Vermont and spending childhood summers traveling with a carnival because her father was a carny, she has earned a reputation as a fan‑favorite scream queen.
