Biography
Assad Zaman is an English actor born on 9 May 1990 in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. He was raised in Newcastle after his parents emigrated from Bangladesh in the 1980s. Zaman trained at the Manchester School of Theatre, completing his studies in 2013. He made his London stage debut the following year and has performed in productions such as Behind the Beautiful Forevers, White Teeth and A Doll’s House. On television he appeared in Apple Tree Yard (2017), Hotel Portofino (2022–2023) and, from 2022 onward, portrays the vampire Armand in Interview with the Vampire. In addition to acting, he has written and directed a short play.
