Biography
Arthur Edward Spence Hill was a Canadian actor born in Melfort, Saskatchewan, on August 1, 1922. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. Hill attended the University of British Columbia, where he studied law before pursuing a career in acting. He continued his studies in Seattle, Washington. Hill became known for his work in British and American theater, television, and film. He made his Broadway debut in 1957 as Cornelius Hackl in a revival of Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker. In 1963, he received the Tony Award for Best Dramatic Actor for his performance as George. Arthur Hill died on October 22, 2006.
