Ariane Ascaride is a French actress and screenwriter born on October 10, 1954, in Marseille, Bouches-du-Rhône, France. She is the daughter of Henriette, an office worker, and a representative who was the son of a Neapolitan immigrant. She is the sister of director Pierre Ascaride and writer Gilles Ascaride, and she early on assisted with the amateur shows involving her father. Ariane Ascaride is married to French director Robert Guédiguian. Her film credits include Marius et Jeannette, also known as Marius and Jeannette, Ma vraie vie à Rouen, released as The True Story of My Life in Rouen and in the USA as My Life on Ice, and À la place du coeur, known as Where the Heart Is. She also starred in and co-wrote the screenplay for Le Voyage en Arménie, titled Armenia.
