Yuri Is My Job! is a Japanese yuri anime series that premiered in 2023, based on the manga written and illustrated by Miman. The story centers on Hime, a girl who maintains a picture-perfect princess image while harboring selfish motivations. After accidentally injuring a cafe manager, she is compelled to work at a uniquely themed establishment where waitresses portray characters from a private school setting. To convincingly act the part of a barista schoolgirl, Hime undergoes training by Mitsuki, the most graceful girl at the cafe. As Hime adapts to her role, emotional tension develops between her and Mitsuki, though Mitsuki openly dislikes her. The series explores themes of performance, identity, and romantic feelings within the yuri genre, which focuses on intimate relationships between female characters. It aired its first season beginning on April 6, 2023, with twelve episodes concluding on June 22, 2023. The original manga has been serialized in Ichijinsha's Comic Yuri Hime since November 2016 and was later licensed in English by Kodansha USA.
