It is based on the webcomic "Yumi's Cells" by Lee Dong-Gun, which was published on Naver from April 1, 2015, to November 13, 2020. The series is told from the perspective of the many brain cells in Yumi's head and explores her growth in various aspects of her life. It is a comedy-drama series that also incorporates elements of romance and slice-of-life storytelling. Yumi's Cells consists of 14 episodes, each lasting approximately one hour and ten minutes. The series aired on TVING and tvN, and it was followed by another series titled "Happiness" in November 2021.
