Overview

Wonderfalls is a television series centered on Jaye Tyler, a recent graduate of Brown University who holds a degree in philosophy. Following her graduation, Tyler works a sales clerk position at a gift shop located in Niagara Falls. The series follows her life as she becomes a reluctant participant in unusual interactions with various animal figurines. These objects, which include a wax lion, a brass monkey, a stuffed bear, and a mounted fish, communicate with her directly. Through these encounters, the figurines provide Tyler with oblique instructions. These messages task her with helping various people who are in need. The narrative focuses on her experiences as she navigates these directives while maintaining her employment at the gift shop. By following the guidance of the inanimate objects, Tyler finds herself involved in the lives of others in ways she did not anticipate. The program explores the challenges she faces while attempting to balance her daily responsibilities with the unexpected demands placed upon her by the figurines.
