With Hasan in Gaza is a documentary and war film directed by Kamal Aljafari. The film centers on three MiniDV tapes of life in Gaza from 2001 that were recently rediscovered. The project originates from a filmmaker's rediscovered footage capturing a journey through Gaza. What initially began as a search for a former prison mate from 1989 evolved into an unexpected road trip from the north to the south of Gaza. The journey is conducted with Hasan, who serves as a local guide and whose fate remains unknown. Alongside the search, the tapes reveal intimate moments of Palestinian life during a pivotal time. The production involves contributions from Palestine, Germany, France, and Qatar, with screenwriting by Kamal Aljafari and Flavia Mazzarino.
