Witch on the Holy Night 2026

Overview

Witch on the Holy Night is an animation, fantasy, and drama film produced by ufotable and adapted from Type Moon's visual novel Mahoutsukai no Yoru. Set near the end of the Showa era in the late 1980s in Misaki town, the story takes place around an old mansion rumored to be the home of a witch. After moving into the mansion, Aoko Aozaki begins learning sorcery from a young mage named Alice Kuonji, who is the rumored witch of the mansion. The Aozaki family oversees the land on which Misaki is built, and the heir, Aoko, is tasked with protecting it. Mysterious intruders disrupt the bounded field in Misaki, prompting Alice and Aoko to investigate the disturbances. During their investigation, a mannequin or puppet attacks them and is incinerated, and both of them spot a civilian running away from the scene. The anime movie features a main cast including Haruka Tomatsu, Kana Hanazawa, and Yusuke Kobayashi reprising their roles from the visual novel, and is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters in 2026.
