Overview

Windstorm 3 is a 2017 family and adventure film directed by Katja von Garnier. The movie serves as a sequel to the 2013 film Windstorm and the 2015 film Windstorm 2. The story follows the characters Mika and her horse, Ostwind, who have established a home at the Kaltenbach farm with Mika's grandmother. As the farm operates as a therapy center, Mika gains recognition for her abilities as a horse-whisperer. However, the demands of the center and her public fame leave her feeling restricted, as she lacks the time and freedom she desires for riding. Following a significant disagreement with her grandmother, Mika decides to leave the farm. She secretly travels to eastern Andalusia, Spain, in search of Ostwind's origins. The film, which has a runtime of one hour and forty-six minutes, was released in Germany on July 27, 2017. It continues the narrative established in the previous installments of the series, focusing on the bond between the protagonist and her horse as they embark on a journey to uncover the animal's roots.
