Overview
White Vengeance is a 2011 drama and action film directed by Daniel Lee, who also served as the writer. The film explores the historical period surrounding the fall of the Qin Dynasty, which ruled Imperial China from 221 to 206 BC. As the nation descends into chaos, two men, Liu Bang and Xiang Yu, emerge as leaders of the rebellious army. Although they are sworn brothers and close friends who serve King Huai of Chu, the two men eventually contend for supremacy. King Huai orchestrates a plot to exploit the competition between them, promising the title of Lord Qin to whichever leader manages to subvert the Qin kingdom in Guanzhong. The narrative follows the resulting conflict as Xiang Yu, characterized by his overconfidence, engages in a struggle for power. Produced by Susanna Tsang with cinematography by Tony Cheung, the film has a runtime of two hours and fifteen minutes. It was released in China on November 29, 2011, and is also known by the Chinese title Hong men yan.
