Where the Heart Is is an American soap opera that originally aired on the CBS television network. Created by Lou Scofield and Margaret DePriest, the program was part of the network's lineup from 1969 to 1973. It was produced in a 25-minute format, with the remaining time in its timeslot allocated to a CBS news break. The show's original head writers, Scofield and DePriest, were later succeeded by Pat Falken Smith, who in turn was replaced by Claire Labine and Paul Avila Mayer in 1972. The series was directed by Richard Dunlap and produced by Tom Donovan.
