Vivant is a 2023 Japanese drama series that follows corporate and geopolitical intrigue. The show stars Masato Sakai, Fumi Nikaidô, Nandin‑Erdene Khongorzul and Hiroshi Abe. Yusuke Nogi, an employee of Ryosho’s Energy Development Division, discovers that a payment ten times larger than the official down payment was mistakenly sent to GFL, a local infrastructure firm involved in constructing a solar‑energy plant in the Balkan Republic of Central Asia. Determined to recover the $90 million overpayment, Nogi travels to the Balkan Republic, where he works with his CIA contact Sam to trace the funds. Their investigation reveals that the terrorist al‑Zaer laundered the entire contract sum into diamonds and moved it abroad. Throughout the series Nogi faces betrayal by a taxi driver, becomes stranded in the desert, and encounters diplomatic pressure, as illustrated in episode two when Chinggis and the foreign‑affairs minister demand his surrender from the Japanese embassy. The series, rated TV‑MA, is available on Netflix and has continued into a second season released in 2026, comprising ten episodes.
