Overview

Van Helsing is a fantasy horror drama television series that reimagines the classic vampire hunting narrative. The show premiered on Syfy and follows Vanessa Helsing, a distant relative of the legendary vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing. Played by Kelly Overton, Vanessa is resurrected five years in the future to discover that vampires have taken over the world. She possesses unique power over vampires and becomes humanity's last hope in reclaiming the world. The series was inspired by Zenescope Entertainment's graphic novel series Helsing. It aired its commercial-free pilot preview on July 31, 2016, before its official premiere on September 23, 2016. The show was renewed for a second season on October 14, 2016.
