Vamps 2017

Overview

Vamps is a 2017 Russian horror, action, fantasy, and thriller film directed by Sergey Ginzburg. The movie, which is also known by the title Ghouls or Vurdalaki, has a runtime of one hour and thirty minutes. The plot is set in 18th century Russia and follows the journey of Andrey, the godson of Empress Elizabeth. The Empress tasks Andrey with traveling to a haunted mountainous region to retrieve a monk named Lavr, who previously served as her confessor and was exiled to a monastery while carrying secret ancient knowledge. Upon arriving at the ill-famed location, Andrey meets with Lavr. Before the two can make their return to St. Petersburg, they are forced to confront evil forces and various creatures of the dark side. The film features a cast that includes Konstantin Kryukov as Andrey Lyubchinskiy, Mikhail Porechenkov as Lavr, and Aglaya Shilovskaya as Milena. Additional cast members listed for the production include Andrey Rudensky and Igor Khripunov. The film was released in Russia on February 22, 2017.
