Overview
UniteUp is a television series that premiered in 2023. The series is part of a multi-dimensional idol project presented by Sony Music Entertainment Japan, which started with a YouTube channel created in November 2021. An anime television series by CloverWorks ran from January 2023 to April 2023. The series follows the story of Akira Kiyose, a high schooler who loves to sing, and gets recruited by a talent agency called sMiLea Production. Akira learns that the legendary idols behind the agency are developing talent and forms an idol group with other recruits. The series features other idol groups, including LEGIT and JAXX/JAXX. A second season of the series premiered on January 11, 2025, and continues the journey of the idol group as they face rivals and challenges in the competitive idol world. The series features the voice talents of Sôma Saitô, Yoshiki Nakajima, Haruka Jinya, and Kaede Sawahata.
