United! is a British television series produced by the BBC that aired on BBC1 between 1965 and 1967. The program was broadcast twice-weekly and focused on the experiences of a fictional second division football team known as Brentwich United. To capture the atmosphere of the sport, the production filmed football scenes on the grounds of Stoke City. Jimmy Hill served as a technical advisor for the series to assist with the portrayal of the sport. The production team aimed for a high level of authenticity throughout the show. This commitment to realism eventually drew criticism from the management of the football club Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club complained that the series was based on their team, despite the show centering on the fictional Brentwich United. The series remains a notable example of sports-themed drama from the mid-1960s, documenting the professional and personal lives associated with the club. The production concluded in 1967 after two years of broadcast.
