Overview

Under the Shadow is a 2016 feature film released in the United States on October 7, 2016, falling under the drama, horror, and war genres with a runtime of one hour and twenty-four minutes. Set in 1980s Tehran during the War of the Cities and the Iran-Iraq War, the film stars Narges Rashidi, Avin Manshadi, Bobby Naderi, Ray Haratian, and Arash Marandi. After Shideh's building is struck by a missile during the conflict, a superstitious neighbor suggests that the projectile is cursed and may carry malevolent Middle-Eastern spirits. Shideh subsequently becomes convinced that a supernatural force inside the building is trying to possess her daughter, Dorsa. To save both her daughter and herself, Shideh finds she has no choice but to confront these forces.
