Ultraman Tiga is the twelfth entry in the Ultraman series and was produced by Tsuburaya Productions. The television series originally aired in Japan from September 7, 1996, to August 30, 1997. It marked the first broadcast of an Ultraman series in Japan since the 1980 release of Ultraman 80. The program is recognized for its role in revitalizing and revolutionizing the franchise. The narrative follows a high-tech squadron tasked with protecting the Earth from various threats, including evil monsters and aliens. To assist in these defense efforts, the team receives the help of a giant super-being known as Ultraman Tiga. The Ultraman brand, which features a fictional alien race of superheroes who combat kaiju and other extraterrestrial entities, has maintained a significant presence in media. The series features performances by actors including Hiroshi Nagano, Takami Yoshimoto, Akitoshi Ohtaki, and Shigeki Kagemaru. As part of a long-running cultural brand, the series remains a notable work within the broader history of Tsuburaya Productions and its various Ultra Heroes.
