Overview
UFO Robot Grendizer vs. Great Mazinger is a 1976 animated movie spanning twenty-four minutes that features alternate versions of events from both series and is not canonical to either one. In the film, alien invaders take over Great Mazinger, which was kept at the entrance of a museum next to Mazinger Z as a symbol of peace, while Grendizer fights the evil invaders.
The Vegan empire dispatches a new general to oversee the takeover of Earth who quickly captures Koji Kabuto, learns of Great Mazinger through interrogation, and commandeers it from the museum. It is ultimately up to Duke Fleed aboard Grendizer to stop humanity's former defender from becoming its destroyer and recover Great Mazinger.
