Overview
Trigun is a Japanese anime television series based on the manga created by Yasuhiro Nightow. The story is set in the distant future on a desert planet that resembles the Wild West. The series follows Vash the Stampede, a gunfighter who is the most infamous outlaw on the planet Gunsmoke. Because of his ruthless reputation, he carries a 60 billion double dollar bounty on his head, causing entire towns to evacuate at the rumor of his arrival. Despite this legend, the enigmatic Vash is a conflicted character who acts like an idiot but maintains a pacifist nature. The show was produced by the studio Madhouse and originally aired on TV Tokyo from April 1 to September 30, 1998, spanning 26 episodes. Following its television run, the series was released on home video formats including VHS and DVD. The franchise later expanded with the 2010 premiere of the anime feature film Trigun: Badlands Rumble in Japan. The series remains available to audiences through various streaming platforms in both subbed and dubbed formats.
