Overview

Tokyo Ghoul is an anime television series produced by Studio Pierrot that is based on the manga series of the same name by Sui Ishida. The story follows Ken Kaneki, a bookworm college student who meets a girl named Rize with whom he shares many interests. Following an encounter with a ghoul, which is described as a superpowered human that feeds on human flesh, Kaneki survives an attack but finds himself transformed into a part-ghoul hybrid. This change forces him to become a fugitive on the run. The first season of the show aired from July to September 2014. A second season, titled Tokyo Ghoul √A, subsequently aired from January to March 2015, with the premiere occurring on January 9, 2015.
