Later, he is reunited with his older brother, Wu the Elder, who is a short and disfigured peddler of buns. Wu the Elder invites Wu Song to come live with him and his new wife, Golden Lotus. Golden Lotus is described as an attractive young former maid who was forced into marriage with Wu the Elder as a punishment after being caught.
