The television series The Walking Dead, created as a post-apocalyptic drama television series based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard, follows a group of survivors in a world largely taken over by animated corpses known as walkers. The story centers on sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes, who awakens from a coma and leads the group of survivors as they attempt to stay alive while fleeing from flesh-eating zombies and facing the living.

During the sixteenth episode of the fourth season, titled A, many paths collide. Rick faces sheer brutality, and the group struggles to survive in a harsh post-apocalyptic environment where the struggle against both the dead and the living remains a constant threat. The series features long-standing cast members including Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
