Overview

The Voice of Holland is a Dutch reality singing competition that premiered in 2010. The television series features four coaches who are themselves popular performing artists. These coaches are responsible for training the talents in their respective groups and occasionally perform with them during the program. Talents enter the competition and are selected through blind auditions, a process in which the coaches cannot see the participants, but can only hear them perform. Based on these audio-only performances, the coaches make their selections to build their teams of artists. The format centers on vocal ability and the mentorship provided by established performing artists to emerging talents within the competitive reality television landscape.
