The True Game of Death is a low budget 1979 Bruceploitation film starring Hsao Lung that borrows heavily from Golden Harvest's 1978 Game of Death. The film begins with footage of Bruce Lee's funeral, after which a narrator states that a new actor who looks quite like him, named Hsao Lung, will become Lee's successor. Later, while Hsao Lung is filming a movie on set, he is approached by a group of gangsters led by a man named George who want to control him. When Hsao Lung declines, the gangsters go after his girlfriend Alice, forcing her to poison him. During sex, the poison takes effect and Hsao supposedly dies, though he actually fakes his death and pretends to be a chef in order to watch over Alice. Subsequently, Alice is kidnapped by the gangsters.
