The Transformers is the first animated television series in the Transformers franchise. It depicts a war between two factions of alien robots capable of transforming into vehicles and other objects. The series focuses on the heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the villainous Decepticons, commanded by Megatron. These transforming robots crash-land on Earth, where their conflict continues with the fate of the planet at stake.
