The Pirates of the Bois du Bologne 1954

Overview

The Pirates of the Bois du Bologne is a nineteen fifty-four French comedy film directed by Norbert Carbonnaux and starring Raymond Bussières, Annette Poivre, and Christian Duvaleix. The story follows characters Cyprien, Hector Colomb, and Annette, who are penniless and desperate for someone to take an interest in them. To achieve this, they decide to become volunteer castaways. They build a raft by sawing down trees in the Bois de Boulogne. With the support of Caroline Grossac and her mother, they receive backing from M. Grossac, a comfortable businessman who possesses a keen sense of publicity. Launched in Saint-Tropez, the raft makes only a short crossing. Despite this, the new privateers are acclaimed, and the wilful shipwreck business proves to be so successful that it ultimately makes Hector and Annette rich.
