The Misfit of Demon King Academy is a Japanese anime television series based on a light novel series written by Shu and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma. The series follows the story of Anos Voldigoad, a reincarnated Demon King who seeks a peaceful world after eradicating humans, spirits, and gods in the distant past. In preparation for his return, the demon race created the Demon King Academy, an elite institution that educates those believed to be the reincarnation of the Demon King. Anos enters the academy, where he is branded a misfit due to the academy's inability to see through his true powers. The series is set in a world where magic has deteriorated to an extreme level and the descendants of the Demon King have become weak due to their accustomed peace.
