The Lamb is a drama film released in Russia on December 15, 2024. The story is directed by Ashley Avis and features a cast that includes Abdulaziz Alqahtani, Fahad Al-Ghamdi, Sumaya Rida, and Nada Abdulhakeem. Set against the extraordinary textures of Saudi Arabia and within a Dagestani village, the narrative follows a young boy named Little Muslimchik or Faisal. After his father leaves for war and in the wake of his mother's death, the determined young boy must take care of his father's flock, fight to preserve his parents' marriage and peace in the family, and embark on a quest across the vast Arabian desert. This journey tests family boundaries, ancient traditions, and the constitution of a boy who seeks to protect the soul and the thing he holds most dear. The 24-minute film is described as a sweepingly visual and intimately poetic hero's journey.
