Overview

The Expanse is an American science fiction television series developed by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby for the Syfy network. Based on the novel series of the same name by James S. A. Corey, the show is produced by Alcon Entertainment. The narrative is set two hundred years in the future in a universe where humanity has colonized the solar system. The story follows a hardened detective, a rogue ship captain, and a United Nations politician whose lives become linked following the disappearance of a young woman who was once a rich socialite turned political activist. As they investigate this case, the protagonists find themselves in a race across the solar system to expose a conspiracy of significant proportions. The series, which aired from 2015 to 2022, is recognized for its detailed depiction of a futuristic universe and the political tensions between different factions. The show features actors including Steven Strait, Dominique Tipper, Wes Chatham, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Thomas Jane. The series concluded after six seasons.
