Overview

The City is an American television soap opera that aired on the ABC network from November 13, 1995, to March 28, 1997. The series was created by Agnes Nixon, Barbara Esensten, and James Harmon Brown. Functioning as a spinoff and continuation of the serial Loving, the show centered on the survivors of a serial killer in the town of Corinth, Pennsylvania. These characters relocated to an apartment building in the SoHo district of New York City to begin their lives anew. Once settled in their new environment, the residents faced various challenges, including organized crime, bombings, and the presence of a psychopath. The cast featured actors such as George Palermo, Laura Wright, Ted King, and Roscoe Born. The production received recognition for its work, winning two Daytime Emmy Awards in 1996. The series concluded its run in March 1997 after serving as a direct follow-up to the final major story arc of its predecessor, which had concluded earlier that same year.
