Overview

The Bureau, originally titled Le Bureau des Légendes, is a French espionage thriller television series created and co-written by Éric Rochant. Produced by TOP - The Oligarchs Productions and Canal+, the series focuses on the lives of agents working for the DGSE, which is the General Directorate for External Security and the principal external intelligence agency of France. Within this organization, a department known as the Office of Legends manages agents who operate under fabricated identities in hostile countries. These clandestine operatives live in a state of permanent duplicity for years with the mission of identifying individuals to recruit as sources of information. The narrative follows a hero who returns from a clandestine mission in Damascus that lasted six years. The series features performances by Mathieu Kassovitz, Florence Loiret Caille, Jonathan Zaccaï, and Sara Giraudeau. The show, which ran from 2015 to 2020, explores the operations of this mythical powerhouse within the French Secret Service and its ghost agents. It is available for streaming on various platforms.
