Takeshi's Castle is a Japanese game show that originally aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System between 1986 and 1990. The program features the Japanese actor Takeshi Kitano, who appears as a count that owns a castle. Within the premise of the series, the count establishes a series of difficult challenges for participants to navigate. Contestants must successfully complete these daunting physical tasks in an attempt to storm the castle and reach the count. Those who manage to conquer the obstacles and succeed in their mission are awarded a grand prize of one million yen. In addition to the original run, a special live revival of the program was broadcast on April 2, 2005.
